Michael Larsen joined World Traders in 2013, becoming Master in October 2023. He is a shareholder at Harbert Management Corp, a US-based, privately-owned investment firm. Prior to joining HMC in 2004 Michael held a variety of senior management roles in Europe and the Middle East, including 20 years with Citigroup/Citibank, returning to the UK in 2005.

Michael is also vice-chair at Aspire Academy Trust, a multi-academy trust comprising a group of 37 primary academies across Cornwall, where he chairs the finance, audit and remuneration committees, and for more than five years was an appointed member of the South-West England advisory board (HTB). Michael is a member of the board of American Citizens Abroad, a US-based charity. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Boston University, where he is actively involved in alumni activities, and is fluent in German and French. Michael is registered with the UK Financial Conduit Authority and holds his FINRA/NASD Series 7 and 63 licences.

When not doting on their grandson Michael and his wife Corinne spend an increasing amount of time at their residence in West Penwith, Cornwall.
