The World Traders is part of the Livery Climate Action Group, a City Livery initiative to reduce carbon emissions via a unified strategy.

As a company, the World Traders has played a valuable role in communicating the issues surrounding climate change via our high profile Tacitus Lecture. The Lecture, one of its kind in the city of London, takes place each year and addresses a major issue facing the City and business. Its delegates include the business community and students, who regularly cite its educational benefits.

In recent years, Tacitus has hosted three lectures which have included assessments of the impact on the climate of business:

 

  • Ms Christine Lagarde, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (February 2019)
  • Mr Kitack Lim, Secretary-General of the International Maritime Organization (February 2020)
  • Dr Kirsten Dunlop, Chief Executive Officer at EIT Climate KIC (February 2021)
