The ceremony at Common Hall in Guildhall was a special one for World Traders in that one of the uncontested two candidates was World Traders Court Assistant Neil Redcliffe, supported in the Gallery by his wife Emma.
Alderman Tim Hailes and Neil both made excellent speeches. The pageantry was traditional, with all Livery Masters processing in their robes, as did Aldermen and Mayoral Party. The Town Crier shouting “oyez, Oyez” and threatening any non-Liverymen present with imprisonment!
A record 21 World Traders lunched afterwards at Stationers Hall, with the weather ideal for pre-lunch drinks in their courtyard.
