The evening of 18 September proved to be as warm and inviting inside the Caledonian Club as it was outside, providing Liveryman Cristina Cortes with a suitably elegant backdrop to lead a fascinating presentation and panel discussion examining Britain’s trading relationship with Latin America.

The panel, including Andrew Thompson, formerly head of the BBC’s Latin American Service and a Senior Analyst with Menas Associates; James McKeigue, Base Metals Editor at Fastmarkets; Vera Innes, Head of the Brazilian Chamber of Commerce in Great Britain; Horacio Rossi, Honorary Vice-President at Canning House and Projects Director at Mott MacDonald; and Mark Titley, Senior Research Associate with Global Canopy of the UK and a founding partner of Trase offered insightful and thought-provoking perspectives.

Following the formal proceedings, discussions on trade and investment opportunities and challenges between the UK and Latin America continued over wine and canapes throughout the evening.

Well done, Cristina for a fabulous event!
