On a gloriously sunny summer morning on 16 June, 35 World Traders and our guests met at All Hallows by the Tower, for our 30th annual Thanksgiving Service. Tower Hill Voices gave us some wonderful music, and led us all in some rousing hymns. Rev Nicol Kinrade, the Vicar, offered us some very interesting thoughts on the difference between knowledge and wisdom and how they apply to world trade, before leading us in re-dedicating ourselves to the Company. David Cook, the Organist, saw us in and out of the service with music with a suitably Norwegian twist.
We then processed to Bakers Hall, where we enjoyed lively discussion and an excellent lunch, as Rev Kinrade was formally installed as the Company’s Chaplain, and we also observed a minute’s silence in honour of Past Master George Capon, who had passed away recently. World Traders greatly enjoyed catching up and meeting new friends, and parted greatly giving thanks for a convivial lunch on a lovely summer day.
