Members of the Worshipful Company of World Traders were delighted to attend a truly memorable evening hosted in support of 1475 (Dulwich) Squadron ATC and The Curzon Club, commemorating the Battle of High Wood and celebrating the Squadron’s remarkable history and enduring legacy.

The Company was represented by Past Master Baroness Garden of Frognal, who also serves as Liaison Officer to the Squadron, and Past Master Peter Alvey, together with Court Assistant Sarah Emilie Goodhew and Honorary Freeman Paul Benbow.

A particular highlight was the magnificent carpet guard performed by the cadets, who looked exceptionally smart and conducted themselves with great professionalism and pride. It was equally heartening to meet so many former cadets, whose continued loyalty and affection for the Squadron spoke volumes about the lasting impact of their cadet experience and the strength of the Squadron’s community.

Special recognition must go to Squadron Leader Kevin Mehmet, who commanded the squadron for over 30 years, whose extraordinary vision, meticulous planning and masterful choreography made the evening such an outstanding success. From the sparkling champagne reception to the beautifully orchestrated readings and songs that punctuated the dinner, every detail was thoughtfully considered. The evening achieved a remarkable balance between poignant remembrance and joyful celebration.

It was a wonderful testament to the strength of the RAF family, the importance of honouring those who have served, and the extraordinary contribution that organisations such as 1475 Squadron make to successive generations of young people. The World Traders are immensely proud of our affiliation with 1475 (Dulwich) Squadron and congratulate everyone involved in such a spectacular occasion.
